Rabbi Barak Bader

Rabbi Barak Bader is the Rabbi of the Westville Synagogue, and there is nothing he loves more than teaching Torah.

Born in Alabama and raised in small towns across the United States, Rabbi Bader grew up in a family whose journey took them through Reform, Reconstructionist, Conservative, and Orthodox Judaism. That path gave him a deep love for the diversity of the Jewish people and a passion for helping every Jew find their own way into Torah.

He received semicha from RIETS at Yeshiva University, earned a Master’s degree in Jewish Education from the Azrieli Graduate School, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Yeshiva University. Whether at a Shabbat table, in a class, or over a cup of coffee, he strives to make Torah learning intellectually engaging, spiritually uplifting, and open to everyone, and to inspire a lifelong love of learning in Jews of every background.

Rabbi Bader lives in Westville with his wife, Libbie, and their two sons.
