Join us for creativity and camaraderie! The Rimmonim (New Haven) Chapter of the Pomegranate Guild of Judaic Needlework presents a Kumihimo Workshop by Sue Honeyman in the Library/Beit Midrash at BEKI. Kumihimo is a braiding technique that is used in the making of long decorative strands. These cords are used in a variety of ways, including jewelry (contemporary woven and beaded necklaces and bracelets) and clothing accents. Ancient samurai warriors used to decorate their armor and sometimes hold it together using kumihimo cords. Cost of materials for the workshop is $20 for members and$25 for non-members. For those who are interested in joining the Rimmonim chapter of the guild, annual dues for Pomegranate membership are a modest $36. To RSVP for the workshop, please contact Sue Honeyman at thewordhive@gmail.com.
