Shul Announcements

Kiddush on September 15th is sponsored by Sharon & Ron Salem

Each year Westville Synagogue tries to add simcha and community to our celebrations of the chagim by offering special congregational kiddushes. We’d like to continue this tradition but can’t without your help. Please consider making a donation to help defray the cost of our lovely kiddushes. Contributions sent to the synagogue office by September 7th 2018 would assist us in our planning and purchasing and would be most appreciated. Thank you!

Memorial Book entries must be in this week in order to have the book printed right after Rosh Hashana.  Please contact Barbara Zalesch.

The shul has again hired babysitter Shannon Brackeen to watch over the younger children on both days of Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur, from 10 am - 1 pm. If your children or your guests' children will be participating in the babysitting, please email Eliraz Shifman Berman (elirazshifman@gmail.comASAPwith the names of the children so name tags can be prepared and so the babysitter knows how many children to expect. Thank you.

Sukkot is only 2 weeks away. Order your lulav and etrog via Rabbi Hyman today! The deadline for orders is Friday, Sept 7, and all payments must be received by Sunday, Sept 9, so please order ASAP!

The building of the shul sukkah will be built on Sunday morning, Sept. 16th right after shacharit, and we're hoping for all hands on deck to make this process go smoothly and quickly. Contact Steven Zalesch ( for information. Any changes to our procedures must be suggested ahead of time so that the actual process is not impeded by re-thinking and discussing.

A sukkah-decorating party will be held later that week so that the children can prepare the finishing touches for this year's sukkah. Date and time will be announced - contact Betsy Schulman for information.

The next Gala Planning Meeting will be on Sunday, September 16, 8:00 pm at the Schulmans, 75 Stevenson Road. Please contact Betsy or Glenn for more information.

There are still shul calendars available for purchase for $25 apiece. To buy one, please contact Barbara Zalesch or the shul office.

If anyone needs a sukkah, please get in touch with Rabbi Hyman.
