We are saddened by the passing of Jacob E. Emanuel z"l, beloved father of Tova and Rabbi Fred Hyman, grandfather of Talya, Raphaela, and Rebecca; husband of Deborah and father of Miriam and Ronnie Moore and Sarah and David Holder. The funeral took place in London on Thursday. Tova will be sitting shiva through Wednesday morning, at her mother's home, 11 Leeside Crescent, Golders Green, London, NW11. The phone number is 011-44-208-455-0176. Tova expects to return to New Haven on Sunday, July 2. A memorial service in New Haven is being planned. Deepest sympathy to the entire family.

BEKI, B’nai Jacob, and the Westville Synagogue will again sponsor a Scholar-in-Residence weekend, featuring Noam Zion a senior research fellow at the Shalom Hartman Institute. We plan to have a catered Shabbat dinner at Westville (by reservation), followed by an address from Mr. Zion. He will speak again on Shabbat following a kiddush luncheon at BEKI, as well as Sunday morning at B’nai Jacob in Woodbridge.
